Vade Retro: the Guggenheim-Rio affair, Video, 2003, 8 Min.

During the Carnival of 2003, the group artesvisuais_políticas staged a demonstration at the Ipanema beach, to protest against the way the City government was negotiating with the Guggenheim Foundation to build a Museum in Rio de Janeiro. The artists from the group, who composed a samba on this occasion, were soon followed by an animated crowd, singing, playing and dancing “backwards”.
