Member's Jour Fixe

The monthly member’s jour fixe is an open forum dedicated to a variety of topics. Current and upcoming exhibitions are discussed here as well as current affairs of the Kunstverein or his work beyond the public business. General concerns of art, cultural policy, society, etc. are also the subject of discussion. The members are expressly invited to suggest topics or to present their own ideas, questions or projects. For example, artist members regularly give insights into their most recent projects.

In the course of our Member's Jour Fixe we visit HuMBase in November - a cultural project initiated by Hannah Häußer and Maximilian Borchert (HuM-Collective) in 2018. HuMBase is looking for gaps in urban spaces in order to exploit their potential and to test and establish new formats. Currently the project is located in a former church in the north of Stuttgart.
We gain an insight into the project and visit the exhibition Innenarchitekturen by the artists Rosa Rücker and David Semper of the Kunstverein Gästezimmer.
Please note that the interiors of the former church are not heated.

Performance and film screening

JOUR FIXE FOR MEMBERS
and those who would like to become one...

We dedicate the members Jour Fixe in September to the extensive accompanying program of this year's members exhibition Could be. Cindy Cordt will perform from 7 pm on Die Bedeutung von Kant ist bejammernswert. Although the performance refers to the theatrical form through its subdivision into three acts, it questions conventions and hasty judgements in a performative manner.
From 7:45 pm on, Grégory Dary presents a short film. The choreographer and filmmaker has portrayed refugees and volunteers from the Stuttgart region as part of his music and dance project "Menschen tanzen" in 2017/2018. Subsequently, he invites the audience to a joint exchange about cultural work and integration.

Terre des Hommes 23rd Art Auction: Behind the Scenes and Short Lecture

Wednesday, 30 January 2019, 7 p.m.

In the course of the Member's Jour Fixe
and for those who would like to become one...

The terre des hommes group Stuttgart is one of about 100 terre des hommes groups in Germany. Around 15 women and men from Stuttgart and the surrounding area are involved in helping children in need. Their artistic, craft and culinary skills are used for various activities: children's festivals and art auctions, flea and Christmas markets, benefit concerts, information events and other occasions.
For some years now, the art auctions of the Terre des Hommes group Stuttgart have been held at the Württembergischer Kunstverein.

As part of the monthly member Jour Fixe on 30 January 2019, the project manager of the art auction, Ms Annegret Junginger, will report on the work of Terre des Homme in general as well as on the art auction and on the project in Pakistan, in which the proceeds from the 23rd art auction will flow. Together we will take a look at the structure of the exhibition and the warehouse in which the approximately 300 art objects will be available for auction on 3 February 2019.
