Members Jour Fixe

The monthly Jour fixe of the members is an open forum dedicated to a wide variety of topics. Ongoing and upcoming exhibitions are discussed here as well as current affairs of the Kunstverein or its work beyond the public domain. General concerns of art, cultural politics, society, etc. are also the subject of discussion. Members are explicitly invited to suggest topics or to present their own ideas, questions or projects. For example, artist members regularly provide insights into their latest projects.

Dr. Maria da Piedade Ferreira's artistic research practice takes place in academia and focuses on developing physical awareness in future designers through performance art. Her work explores the connections between architecture, neuroscience, performance art and creativity and has been published and presented in international journals and venues. She currently teaches physical architecture, design, ergonomics and design history at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences (HFT). In 2020, in response to COVID-19, she founded the YouTube channel Corporeal Architecture, a curatorial project that functions as an open-access educational and exhibition space that archives and preserves conversations, lectures, performances, and artistic research results, with the goal of sparking transformational processes by bringing awareness of the connections between learning, play, and creativity to a wider audience.
