Jan Peter E.R. Sonntag

Jan Peter E.R. Sonntag developed his video installation "612.43 Weiss" based on Found Footage interfering into the depths of digital sound and image structure. An image of an open baggage train before Stalingrad in 1943 is gradually developing from the white hissing noise of image pixels. The creation of the image is linked to the digital use of Franz Schubert's song cycle "Die Winterreise", interpreted in the same year by Hans Hotter – a "star bariton" of the Thrid Reich.
