After a successful start of the new residency program for artistic exchange between Catalonia and Baden-Württemberg in 2015, the scholarship has been offered every year since then. Initiated by the Goethe-Institute Barcelona, the Hangar art center in Barcelona, the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg and the Württembergischer Kunstverein – it consists in four residencies taking place for two months in Stuttgart and Barcelona and addressing two artists of each partner region. This year’s fellows from Catalonia, Alba Mayol Curci and Marla Jacarilla, stayed in Stuttgart from July to August.

The exhibition Shadows of Language Travel at the Speed of Light presents the results of this fellowship.

As in a neo-Delphi of the Capitalocene, the "Oracle of the Origin" by Alba Mayol Curci investigates language as affective xenoglossia, exploring vibration, matter, iridescence, synthetic surfaces and trance.

In "Just Do It!", Marla Jacarilla creates a useless guide for happiness and success in ten chapters that reflects on the possibilities of staying out of the capitalist system or, at least, be critical of it and aware of its functioning.
