A crossover concert evening over night: The Staatsorchester Stuttgart under Dennis Russell Davies meets Schorsch Kamerun, special guests are Maeckes and Tristan Brusch. Musically, it presents from intimate Schubert songs to Dvorák's dreamy string nocturne to the Far East by Lou Harrison. And we'll take a live look at what happens there at night in the palace garden! In addition, there will be a skate ramp in front of the opera house - and we invite all guests to the terrace of the Württembergischer Kunstverein after the concert! A concert like the night itself - dreamy, intoxicating, fascinating and sometimes dangerous!

Detailed information about the program
In 1906, the American Charles Ives wrote an orchestral piece about the near and far sounds heard on a summer night in the middle of New York's Central Park. The night in a big city 100 years later certainly offers quite different sounds again. And sounds different for each:n anyway, depending on whether he:she experiences this time of day alone or in the bath of the crowd. Whether as a place of retreat, as a dream place, in intoxication or as a danger zone. In continuation of the Denk ich an Deutschland concert from the fall, we end the season with a crossover concert as a musical reflection on a time of day that offers amazing possibilities to experience oneself differently, to question rules and to encounter each other in mysterious ways. Director and singer Schorsch Kamerun, together with the Stuttgart State Orchestra conducted by Dennis Russell Davies, explores the night in its various facets musically, poetically and medially. In addition to Charles Ives' Central Park in the Dark, we will hear Antonín Dvorák's dreamy Notturno for Strings, songs by Franz Schubert with soloists from the Stuttgart State Opera, and Far Eastern music by Lou Harrison. With microphone and camera, we also bring the real night in the Schlossgarten into the opera house, in order to explore the question of what free spaces the night offers and how it can be shared in public space after a year of curfews and a depressed nightlife. As a special guest, rapper Maeckes, also known as a band member of the Orsons, tells his own stories of the night together with singer-songwriter Tristan Brusch.

Shared Space #Parkside
The Shared Space #Parkside is a new temporary outdoor platform in the sculpture courtyard of the Württembergischer Kunstverein, which will be used by the WKV (WKV #Parkside) and other partners (Shared Space #Parkside) for various events until the end of September.
The Shared Space #Parkside was funded by the impulse program "Art despite Distance" of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg.
