Temporary outdoor platform in the Skulpturenhof
of the Württembergischer Kunstverein
June to September 2021
The Shared Space #Parkseite is the new temporary outdoor platform in the Sculpture Courtyard of the Württembergischer Kunstverein, which will be used by the Kunstverein (WKV #Parkseite) as well as by other partners, groups and individuals (Shared Space #Parkseite) for events until the end of September. The Kunstverein is thus continuing its concept of open spaces. As with the Glass Wing, anyone interested in using the platform for non-commercial events, meetings, rehearsals and more can contact the Kunstverein.
The area around the Eckensee, which is directly overlooked from the Shared Space #Parkside, has stood for a place of social tensions and conflicts since the beginning of the pandemic at the latest, due among other things to the pandemic-related restrictions that hit socially disadvantaged people particularly hard, as well as clear structures of racial profiling. Against this background, a series of projects by the Kunstverein and other partners will address problems of institutional racism on the new platform.
The Shared Space #Parkside and Shared Space #Bauzaun (construction fence) are funded by the impulse program "Art despite Distance" of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg.
