"Say What You Want!"

OUTDOOR DAY OF ACTION
Shared Space, Württembergischer Kunstverein
Saturday, June 19, 2021, 2 pm to 7 pm
With Yanki Kaya, Ülkü Süngün, Yeama Bangali, Elke aus dem Moore, Hans D. Christ  and others
A project from the Empowerment Project of the German-Turkish Forum Stuttgart
in cooperation with Office for Discrimination in Stuttgart and the Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart

One year after the “riots” due to a racist police control at Eckensee in Stuttgart’s city center, adolescents and young adults expand and contextualize the prevailing public discussion with perspectives from their everyday reality- a reality, which is shaped by racism and racial profiling. After the Hanau right wing terror attack and the death of George Floyd by a police officer in 2020, activism & self-organising as well as public rallies, community building and empowerment gain importance for BIPOC for their protest and demands for social change and a better future. The focus of this day of action is therefore empowerment and legal education on civil rights as well as solidarity.
