The Shared Space of the Württembergischer Kunstverein is less a fixed place, but rather an attitude and a mode by which we share our spaces.

Thus, the #Glastrakt, our foyer, event and lounge space, is also open to artists, civil society groups, institutions, activists and other culturally or socially engaged actors to use it for their own non-commercial events, meetings, rehearsals, etc.: regardless of whether these are public, non-public or partially public formats. During the regular opening hours of the WKV (Tue–Sun, 11am–6pm; Wed: 11am–8pm) this use is free of charge, after which staff costs will be charged. Interested parties may apply informally for use at zentrale@wkv-stuttgart.de. Appointments will be made according to capacity. Excluded are party political and commercial events as well as activities with an openly discriminatory approach. WKV reserves the right to refuse space requests without justification.

The #Querung, an open exhibition platform established in 2013 and located in the transitional space between the glass wing and the old building of the Kunstgebäude, is also used by other local / regional actors of contemporary arts and civil society in addition to the Kunstverein. Currently, the model of the crossing is being redesigned.

Temporary shared spaces in the first two pandemic years were the Shared Space #Kuppel (2020) in the dome hall of the Kunstgebäude and the Shared Space #Parkseite (2021) on the temporary outdoor platform of the Kunstverein. Both projects were supported by additional funding from the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of the State of Baden-Württemberg.
