Artist Exchange Grants Baden-Württemberg – Catalonia

The artist exchange grants between Baden-Württemberg and Catalonia, which were launched in 2015 on the initiative of the Goethe-Institut Barcelona, the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg, the Württembergischer Kunstverein and the Hangar Barcelona art center, will continue in 2024. The grants are funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg (MWK) and the Catalonian state government.

The aim of these grants is to promote exchange between the art scenes in Baden-Württemberg and Catalonia. Different artistic approaches, backgrounds and production methods should enter into dialog and enrich each other.

Participation is open to all artists of any age and nationality who live in Baden-Württemberg or Catalonia and develop projects in the fields of visual arts, performance, installation, sound art, audiovisual media, new media and similar.

The residency in Stuttgart will last 8 weeks from June 1 to July 31, 2024, while the exchange in Barcelona will take place from September 1 to October 31, 2024. During their stay the selected artists will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with the local artists. For their stay, a studio and living space is provided by the cooperating institution. In addition, the grant holders receive financial support in the form of monthly maintenance costs, a production cost subsidy and a contribution to their travel expenses.

Further information can be found here.

The application deadline is Sunday, March 24, 2024.

Applications must be submitted online and in English via the application form.
