On right-wing extremist movements in Eastern Europe and their visual communication

In his lecture, Florin M. Arhire will present the topic of his recently successfully defended dissertation. In this work, he examines the rise of far-right movements in Romania and other Eastern European countries and their visual codes. The aim is to educate the public – and graphic designers in particular – about the origin and meaning of the symbols of these movements, which few people are aware of. The aim is to prevent right-wing extremist visual communication from being unrecognized as such and unknowingly reproduced and disseminated.
