As part of the solo exhibition resistant theatre by the queer-feminist artist siren eun young jung (Seoul) and in cooperation with various other partners, guests, and projects, the Württembergische Kunstverein is organizing an intensive program of lectures, discussions, performances, screenings, concerts, and workshops from July 6 to 12, 2026.

This series of events takes as its point of departure the visibility and political significance of LGBTQIA+ communities in the resistance against authoritarian, right-wing, anti-democratic, anti-queer, and anti-woke structures in liberal democracies. The focus is on aesthetic practices such as music, performance, poetry, photography, and video as spaces of discourse and action in political subjectivation.

Queerness here is understood not only as a question of identity, but above all as an aesthetic and political force that challenges existing normative orders and ways of thinking—regarding gender and origin as well as the notions of humanity, nation, environment, or law.
