WHAT + FOR WHOM
This workshop series is for adults with an Asian migration background or Asian roots. Whether you recently came to Germany to study or work, or your parents or grandparents have roots in Asia, you are warmly welcome. Across three workshops, we open a safer space where we can share our experiences, exchange with one another and support each other. Through body work, jewellery making and experimenting with paint, paper and textiles, we explore questions of origin, belonging and connection. You are welcome to register for a single workshop or for all three. When registering, please write a few sentences about yourself and why you would like to take part.

REGISTRATION + INFORMATION
Participation is free and limited to 12 participants. The venue is wheelchair accessible; please let us know about any specific needs when you register. The workshops are held in German, and English translation can be provided on request.

Reconnect to Our Roots: A Body Workshop
Friday, October 9, 2026, 6:30–9 p.m.
For many of us in the Asian diaspora, "home" isn't always a clear place. It can be a language we no longer speak fluently, a silence our parents never broke, a story we only half know. This workshop offers a space to sit with that complexity, not to resolve it. Through guided meditation and body movement, we explore our connection and disconnection to our roots. We may share or not share similar stories, and use this space to strengthen ourselves to imagine an alternative future.

What Adorns You? A Jewellery Workshop
Friday, November 6, 2026, 6:30–9 p.m.
Adornment is one of humanity’s oldest forms of expression. Whether it be an object from nature or lines on the skin, adornment takes many forms. Jewellery, whether temporary or permanent, can be used as protection, a symbol of belonging or a sign of power. In this workshop, we will explore together what can and may adorn us. Which ‘jewels’ – or labels – we wish to shed, and which we want to reshape. We may create pieces of jewellery that adorn us, helping us to connect, to distance ourselves or to feel empowered. Materials will be provided. Anyone who wishes to do so may bring their own materials.

Saturday, December 12, 2026, 6:30–9 p.m.
As human beings, we do not exist alone; from the beginning of our lives, relationships and connections are vital to our survival. Community can be protection, responsibility, sometimes obligation, or even a burden. When we migrate or live in the diaspora, connections are stretched or severed, and new ones are formed. The fabric we are woven into changes, and we can change it too. In this workshop, we experiment with paint, paper and cotton and try to find out what holds us, where we can connect, and what we can weave together to step into our strength.
