In this section, we will keep you informed about the situation, decisions and further plans of WKV in these challenging times.

Until further notice, the operation of WKV has been reduced to a level where as few people as possible have to be on site together. We are still available by phone at +49 711 22 33 70 (Mon-Fri, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.) – no matter whether we work on site or in home office.

Extensions are planned for both current exhibitions, for Actually, the Dead Are Not Dead until at least August 2, 2020 and for Alexander Kluge until at least May 10, 2020. We are also currently clarifying how to proceed with the exchange program Baden-Württemberg-Catalonia. The exhibition Horst Brandstätter And the Question Of (Un)Freedom in the Querungen (organizers: Die Anstifter, Haus der Geschichte Baden-Württemberg, Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen) as well as other cancelled events are to be postponed. As soon as we can say something reliable about the mentioned points, you will find out on this page, via our newsletter and on Facebook.

In addition to conceiving a relatively uncertain future, we are currently concerned above all with the question of how we, as the WKV, but also on a broader level, should and can deal with the precarious conditions of the art business, the harshness of which is particularly evident in the current crisis. It is good and important that the political field is now responding with many emergency programs: but the problem lies much deeper. Whatever this world looks like, if the corona virus is reasonably under control: Nothing can go on as before.

But the most important thing right now: Please, stay healthy!
